About Us
Aertker Sporthorses offers full service Hunter/Jumper training for both horse and rider. Located at Lagniappe Equestrian Center in Folsom, LA (one hour north of New Orleans). Aertker sporthorses strives to produce strong and independent riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced, with good horsemanship being highly stressed.
Kathleen Aertker
Kathleen Aertker founded Aertker Sporthorses in 2007. A 2002 graduate of LSU, Kathleen has been teaching riding lessons for ten years, six of them under Lyn Owens Willingham, and riding horses for nearly 20 years. While at LSU, Kathleen was one of the founding members of the LSU Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team, which is still actively competing today. A lover of big fountain drinks and Italian food, Kathleen creates a fun and challenging environment to learn in.
